Matthew founded Datacenter Trust with Marc Watley in February 2010 and serves as Co-Founder & COO and is also Managing Partner of the Financial Intelligence practice. Matthew is a results-oriented leader with vast experience in the areas of Information Technology Finance and Operations.  

Matthew is experienced and skilled in leading and managing high profile global initiatives (Strategic Infrastructure Implementations, Datacenter Consolidations, Lifecycle Management tracking solutions and financial system development), counseling senior management on budgetary, operational and strategic initiatives, building successful cross-functional teams,  communications and presentations, and overall problem solving. Matthew brings 15 years of Financial and Operational experience in the healthcare, entertainment and consulting industries.

Prior to co-founding Datacenter trust, Matthew worked for Kaiser Permanente, first as Lead Financial Analyst for Infrastructure and then Business Consultant Specialist for the Infrastructure Strategy Program. As business consultant specialist, Matthew created and analyzed operational and financial metrics and key performance indicators while providing financial oversight for the $1.8 Billion Infrastructure Strategy program, developed best practices, process and procedures for the future state infrastructure and managed the Activity Based Costing activities of the program.  As lead financial analyst, Matthew managed a portfolio of departments within an IT department with an annual spend of $2.0 Billion, from the financial planning, analysis and reporting aspect. He also managed outsourcing and corporate wide initiatives from a cost modeling, benchmarking and analysis perspective.

Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Matthew was a Director of Financial Services for Pinpointe Services, Inc., a boutique consulting company that specializes in datacenter and platform consolidations due to corporate mergers and acquisitions.  At Pinpointe, Matthew managed a team of project managers, created the cost models associated with consolidations and directed the vendor and contract management aspects of global multi-million dollar projects.

Subsequent to Vivendi Universal, Inc., Matthew was Sr. Financial Analyst for infrastructure services, with Wellpoint Health Networks.  Matthew managed the hardware and software groups from a financial planning, analysis and reporting perspective.  Matthew also conducted lease versus buy, shareholder value and financial analysis for infrastructure projects, and special projects for the SVP of Infrastructure.  .

Previous to Wellpoint Health Networks, Matthew was Manager of Vendor, Contract and Life Cycle management for Universal Studios/Seagram/Vivendi Universal, Inc.  Matthew developed and built the system in which all vendor agreements, equipment, software licenses and services were tracked and acted upon.  Though the development of this system, over $15M was saved in year one of the project.  Matthew also managed the capital expenditures of the global datacenter community, procured infrastructure equipment, as well as supplied the finance department all relevant financial information to the budget teams.  Matthew also participated in the Corporate IT Integration projects brought on by M&A activities and managed large global projects.

Born, raised and currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, Matthew participates in many industry and charitable organizations.  Matthew spends his time away from work with family and friends, traveling, following college football and playing golf when time permits.
